Job description

To transform the operational needs of the assigned business area to applications and systems and to ensure that all required modifications, configurations and maintenance are accurately implemented, in order to support their efficient operation

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY

• Implements approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and provides instructions to subordinates and monitors their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

Day- to-day operations

• Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the Solutions Delivery function to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures

Budget

• Provides input for the development of departmental budget and monitors performance against approved levels within own function, ensuring any variances are appropriately addressed

Identification of Needs

• Acts as the liaison between the assigned business areas and the BT operations in order to understand and communicate their business needs and future goals
• Analyses the business needs of the assigned area of responsibility and proposes the development of applications or the configuration of the current, so as to support the effectiveness of business operations
• Keeps abreast of the local and international trends and best practices in the banking operating systems and proposes relevant improvements for increasing the efficiency and speed of operations
• Ensures that business objectives and requirements are properly documented and well understood by all concerned parties to deliver premium software solutions

Solutions Development

• Ensures and provides guidance for the design of the applications required from business according to Bank’s BT architecture, so as to define the rules for the applications’ development
• Ensures the applications developed are aligned to business requests and architecture design, so as to support the efficiency of the operations
• Provides guidance for the accurate and compatible configuration of the systems and applications defining the values of parameters and adjustments required, so as to enable their effective operation and cooperation
• Participates in the testing of the applications developed, so as to identify and confirm their efficiency and accuracy prior their release to production
• Identifies and evaluates the most suitable vendors for the development of application that can’t be developed internally taking into consideration the cost and the quality of services

Solutions Delivery

• Ensures that all systems / applications’ malfunctions reported from the Services Center department are resolved on time and accurately, providing guidance for the resolution of the most complicated, so to assist the operational ability of the business
• Monitors the efficiency of the applications used in the assigned business area and proceeds to their maintenance and required configuration, so as to support the effective execution of business objectives
• Controls that all new applications and changes / configurations applied in systems and applications are documented according to processes, so as to enable and support the effective knowledge management
• Follows-up and monitors the efficiency of the applications developed or configured according to the needs of the assigned business areas, so as to ensure customer satisfaction and support of business operations

Direction of Subordinates

• Organizes and supervises the activities and work of a team of subordinates to ensure that all work within a specific area of Branch Support Operations activity is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner
• Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

Reporting

• Prepares departmental reports of Riyad Bank timely and accurately to meet the bank and department requirements, policies and standards

Committees and Meetings

• Represents the function and actively contributes in various committees/meetings (internal and external) as applicable and per authority levels in order to ensure relevant matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner

People Management

• Ensures all staff have clear objectives, regular performance feedback sessions, formal annual appraisals, and individual development plans, with particular emphasis on the development of talented Saudi national staff
• Ensures and facilitates the employment, training and development of Saudi nationals within the organization

Safety, Quality & Environment

• Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT engineering or equivalent
• 8-10 years of relevant experience

Technical Knowledge areas:

• Thorough knowledge of banking BT systems and applications
• Very good knowledge of the banking operations and requirements
• Excellent project management skills
• Significant experience in translating the business needs in BT systems and operations
• Very good knowledge of programming languages operating systems relevant to the assigned business area, e.g. UNIX, SQL, java, .net, Visual Basic, etc
