Job summary

Riyad Bank is seeking a senior IT leader to guide secure use of operating systems and cloud platforms, with ongoing monitoring, problem solving and upgrades. The role drives cloud migrations, ensures system reliability, and aligns with banking standards and SLAs.

You will lead a team, implement policies, monitor performance, and support end users across online, batch, and e-services computing facilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT engineering or equivalent.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in IT and banking environments.
• Strong knowledge of banking BT systems and cloud, security and project management.

Responsibilities

• Implements approved departmental policies, processes and procedures and guides subordinates.
• Executes day-to-day operations for the Product Development function to ensure standards.
• Contributes to budgeting and monitors performance within own function.
• Directs and controls cloud migration and operating system installation projects.
• Monitors OS, servers, databases and apps for reliability and performance.

To guide and control the secure and effective utilization of the operating systems and Cloud platforms, through their continuous monitoring, problem solving and upgrade

AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:

• Implements approved departmental policies, processes, procedures and provides instructions to subordinates and monitors their adherence so that work is carried out in a controlled manner

Day- to-day operations

• Implements the day-to-day operations assigned for the Product Development function to ensure compliance with the established standards and procedures

Budget

• Provides input for the development of departmental budget and monitors performance against approved levels within own function, ensuring any variances are appropriately addressed

Automation and Cloud Management

• Ensures the accurate, effective and timely installation and migration of the operating systems components, configurations and applications, so as to support the business operations efficiency
• Directs and controls the implementation / migration process of the Cloud components so as to achieve their accurate installation with the minimum interruption of business operations
• Executes efficiently and according to requests delivery of online, batch and e-services computing facilities
• Sets, in cooperation and consultation with the banking operations, the key performance indicators for the operating systems, so as to facilitate the evaluation of their performance and effective implementation of improvements
• Guides the effective and continuous monitoring of the efficiency of the operating systems, servers, data base and applications, so as to enhance their reliability, availability and proactive resolution of issues
• Directs the daily provision of assistance and support to the end users, so as to facilitate the effective operation of the systems
• Identifies any potential malfunction in the operating systems efficiency and guides the implementation of solutions that will restore their efficiency according to banking standards and SLAs
• Controls the accurate connectivity of the required hardware and devices, for the effective utilization of systems and applications
• Ensures that the data base(s) of all operating systems are accurately secured, monitored and available for all relevant parties
• Controls and guides the development of contingency and data recovery plans, providing the required systems’ infrastructure, so as to enable the protection and availability of data at all times
• Monitors and controls the implementation of tests at the operating systems and proceeds to any required configuration or change, so as to enhance the efficiency

Direction of Subordinates

• Organizes and supervises the activities and work of a team of subordinates to ensure that all work within the activity of the department is carried out in an efficient and procedurally compliant manner
• Contributes to the identification of opportunities for continuous improvement of systems, processes and practices taking into account ‘international best practice’, improvement of business processes, cost reduction and productivity improvement

Reporting

• Prepares departmental reports of Riyad Bank timely and accurately to meet the bank and department requirements, policies and standards

Committees and Meetings

• Represents the function and actively contributes in various committees/meetings (internal and external) as applicable and per authority levels in order to ensure relevant matters are dealt with in a timely and efficient manner

People Management

• Ensures all staff have clear objectives, regular performance feedback sessions, formal annual appraisals, and individual development plans, with particular emphasis on the development of talented Saudi national staff
• Ensures and facilitates the employment, training and development of Saudi nationals within the organization

Safety, Quality & Environment

• Complies with all relevant safety, quality and environmental management policies, procedures and controls to ensure a healthy and safe work environment

• Performs other related duties or assignments as directed

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT engineering or equivalent preferably at a post-graduate level
• 8-10 years of relevant experience

Technical Knowledge areas:

• Thorough knowledge of banking BT systems and applications
• Very good knowledge of the banking operations and requirements
• Excellent project management skills
• Very good knowledge of programming languages operating systems relevant to the assigned business area, e.g. UNIX, SQL, java, .net, Visual Basic, etc
• Excellent knowledge of the Cloud Services, VDI and automation services
