Job summary

Hitachi Energy Ltd. in Saudi Arabia is seeking a GIS I&C Specialist to install, commission and maintain high voltage GIS systems, ensuring all safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met.

You will coordinate with project teams, sub-suppliers, and site management to drive timely completion and flawless execution. The role requires a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 2–5 years GIS experience, and strong English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• 2-5 years of GIS experience is preferred.
• Experience with SF6 GAS-Handling and PGHV Transmission & Sub transmission GIS is preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Project.

Responsibilities

• Install and maintain high voltage GIS systems; ensure installation requirements.
• Adhere to safety and accident prevention guidelines on live systems.
• Review red-mark drawings and modify documents as needed.
• Coordinate with sub-suppliers installation supervisors for scheduling.
• Collaborate with PG Project Manager to report status of completed and non-completed work.
• Inspect arriving materials for completeness and damage; coordinate material handling with sub-suppliers.
• Issue non-conformance reports for damaged or missing equipment.
• Supervise final installation and tests; prepare completion documentation.
• Lead loop check activities and participate in site meetings as requested by project management.
• Ensure task execution competence and fulfill management-assigned duties.
• Ensure compliance with regulations and Hitachi Energy values.

The opportunity

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic GIS I&C Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be working as a GIS I&C Specialist to cover all the activities/actions required to enable switching systems to be successfully installed, repaired and any faults eliminated. You will be responsible for installation of high voltage systems worldwide for PGHV. He/she represents PG in general through his presence and technical knowledge and PGHV specifically in dealings with the client at the installation site. The deadlines issued for each project are adhered to, whereby the cost-performance ratio must always be borne in mind in this respect. He/she embodies the PG QA philosophy, considering the special conditions on the construction sites. You will be responsible for the installation & commission work entrusted to him being carried out in perfect technical order.

How you’ll make an impact

• Carrying out installation and maintenance work independently.
• Ensuring compliance with the installation requirements and Instructions &ensures that the necessary accident prevention measures are observed; specifically, he abides by the guidelines for work on live system components.
• Responsible for red-mark drawings/documents with any changes or modification that became necessary during the installation.
• Advising the sub-supplier's installation superintendent in planning and coordination of the work force necessary to comply with the schedule.
• Cooperating with PG Project Manager on establishing status of completed and non-completed work.
• Inspecting of arriving material for completeness and possible damage and coordination of material handling in cooperation with sub-suppliers Material Control within sub-suppliers' procedures.
• Issuing non-conformance reports for damage or missing equipment within PG scope of supply in cooperation with PG Project Manager.
• Supervising final installation & commission tests and PG installation completion documentation.
• Supervising and coordinating the loop check activities and participation at site meetings as requested by the PG-CH Project Manager.
• Responsible for the competence execution of his tasks.
• Carry out any tasks that are assigned by management necessary to fulfil the job requirements.

Your background

• A bachelor’s degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering is required.
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience with GIS is preferred.
• Previous experience with SF6 GAS-Handling and PGHV Transmission & Sub transmission GIS Product knowledge preferred.
• Having capability to use MS project professionally.
• Proficiency in both spoken & written English language is required.
