Job summary

HITACHI ENERGY LTD. is seeking a GIS I&C Engineer to own installation, commissioning and fault-elimination tasks for high-voltage GIS projects at client sites in the Dammam region. You will lead installation activities, coordinate with subcontractors, and ensure adherence to safety and quality standards.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, 2–5 years of GIS experience, and fluency in English. MS Project proficiency will aid planning and status reporting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out installation and maintenance work independently.
• Ensure compliance with installation requirements and live system safety guidelines.
• Prepare red-mark drawings/documents for changes during installation.
• Assist sub-suppliers' installation superintendent in planning and coordination of the required workforce.
• Coordinate with PG Project Manager to establish status of completed and pending work.
• Inspect arriving material for completeness and possible damage; coordinate material handling.
• Issue non-conformance reports for damaged or missing equipment within PG scope of supply.
• Supervise final installation and commissioning tests and documentation.

In this role, you will be working as a GIS I&C Engineer to cover all the activities/actions required to enable switching systems to be successfully installed, repaired and any faults eliminated. You will be responsible for installation of high voltage systems worldwide for PGHV. He/she represents PG in general through his presence and technical knowledge and PGHV specifically in dealings with the client at the installation site. The deadlines issued for each project are adhered to, whereby the cost-performance ratio must always be borne in mind in this respect. He/she embodies the PG QA philosophy, considering the special conditions on the construction sites.
