🌍 We're Hiring: Geotechnician 📍 Location: [Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia] | 🕒 Full-time | 🧭 Exploration & Geosciences

We are seeking a Geotechnician to support our geological and field operations. This role involves assisting geologists in mapping, sampling, core processing, and drill monitoring. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, detail-oriented, and capable of working in remote, rugged environments. As a Geotechnician, you will also supervise field assistants, ensure sampling standards are met, and contribute to critical field data collection and QA/QC processes.

Technical Skills:

• Sample collection techniques with attention to quality.
• Ability to detect and resolve sampling or equipment issues.
• Understanding of RQD and geological sampling protocols.
• GPS and mapping tool proficiency.
• Data entry accuracy and field documentation.
• Valid driver’s license with 4WD proficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in collecting different types of samples: Soil, Grab, RC Chips, AC Chips.
• Support geologists in field mapping.
• Supervise sampling teams and ensure equipment readiness.
• Maintain accuracy in sample labeling and handling.
• Conduct core box corrections and register documentation.
• Receive and verify core from drilling contractors.
• Match core to run sheets and core boxes.
• Log Diamond Drill (DD) core with geological context.
• Monitor RC and AC drill rigs for operational quality.
• Draw cutting and orientation lines.
• Take high-quality photos of DD, AC, and RC cores.
• Conduct drill rig setup inspections.
• Ensure RQD, recovery, and meter marking are done correctly.
• Handle loading/unloading of core boxes.
• Record and enter data using electronic systems.
• Adhere to QA/QC procedures and report anomalies.
• Supervise field assistants and sampling teams.
• Ensure availability and readiness of all field equipment.
• Guide junior staff and participate in mentoring when needed.

Qualifications & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 2-5 years of experience in field exploration activities.
• Background or interest in geological or technical studies preferred.
• Experience of operating field equipment (GPS, cameras, laptops).
• Physically capable of working in remote and rugged terrain.
• Familiarity with drilling operations and sample handling.
• First Aid certified and trained for remote fieldwork safety
