Job summary

CAE Middle East seeks a Flight Simulator Engineer to support Riyadh Air's new training centre in Saudi Arabia. The role involves hands-on maintenance, preventive and corrective tasks across office, customer site, and field environments, with opportunities to contribute to design activities.

The ideal candidate will have a technical diploma or degree in electronics, electrical, or aviation, 3–5 years of relevant experience, and strong English communication skills to collaborate with global teams.

Responsibilities

• Assist during subjective flyouts and perform snag clearance.
• Carry out Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs) on training devices and systems.
• Ensure PMTs are signed off and deficiencies closed timely.
• Troubleshoot QTG-related issues with seniors.
• Diagnose and resolve issues on training devices and update DRs.
• Support senior colleagues during AOG situations and coordinate with logistics.

Job description

Join CAE Middle East as a Flight Simulator Engineer and help establish the technical operations supporting Riyadh Air's new training centre in Saudi Arabia.

In this hands-on role, you will perform complex but established technical activities, including preventive and corrective maintenance in the office, at the customer site, and in the field. You may also contribute to selected design activities.

Key Responsibilities Will Include, But Are Not Limited To

• Assist during subjective flyouts and perform snag clearance.


• Independently carry out Preventive Maintenance Tasks (PMTs) and Daily Readiness (DR) on training devices and associated systems.


• Ensure PMTs are completed according to standards, properly signed off, and that all generated deficiencies are followed up and closed in a timely manner.


• Ensure all recurrent QTG runs are completed; action and follow up on all deficiencies.


• Troubleshoot QTG-related issues and collaborate with the QTG specialist and senior colleagues as needed.


• Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues on training devices and promptly update related DRs.


• Support senior colleagues during AOG situations and maintain strong communication with logistics, scheduling, and training teams to ensure smooth training delivery.


• Monitor Simissues and action/update items assigned to the on-site team.


• Perform required tests and provide clear, concise feedback.


• Coordinate with senior colleagues to ensure Snags and SPRs are actioned.


• Use the Maintenance Management System to record, track, and review maintenance activities.


• Comply with local and global CAE Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) standards and safe-working procedures, demonstrating strong duty of care for personal and team safety.

Minimum Qualifications

• Technical College Diploma or Degree in Electronics, Electrical, or Aviation field.


• 3-5 years of relevant work experience.


• Excellent spoken and written English.


• Demonstrated initiative and ability to work under minimal supervision.


• Ability to work flexible shifts and adapt to changing schedules and shift patterns.


• Suitable understanding of aircraft terminology and simulation training devices.


• Ability to interpret schematics and technical documents relevant to simulation devices.


• Knowledge of analog and digital principles and theory.


• Troubleshooting skills for electronic, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.


• Skilled in the use of test equipment and software diagnostic tools.


• Basic understanding of avionics, motion, and visual systems.


• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.).


• Basic knowledge of computer mainframe/architecture, networking, and operating systems (Windows NT/XP, UNIX, Linux, AIX).
