Role Context

The Fire and Life Safety Inspector will provide an important assurance function across buildings and facilities by confirming that fire protection measures, evacuation provisions, emergency systems, and related safety features remain compliant and operational. The role requires more than visual inspection. Building layouts, occupancy classifications, exit arrangements, alarm systems, suppression equipment, and structural conditions must be assessed together to understand how effectively occupants and property would be protected during an emergency. Accurate documentation and disciplined follow-up are central to the position. Inspection findings must be converted into clear corrective actions, communicated to responsible stakeholders, and tracked until safety deficiencies are appropriately resolved.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct detailed fire and life safety inspections across commercial, industrial, and residential properties.
  • Verify compliance with applicable fire safety codes and life safety requirements.
  • Inspect fire suppression systems for proper installation and operational readiness.
  • Review sprinkler systems, extinguishing equipment, and associated fire protection components.
  • Inspect fire alarm systems and verify appropriate functionality.
  • Assess emergency exits, escape routes, and means of egress.
  • Confirm that exit pathways remain accessible, adequately identified, and suitable for occupancy requirements.
  • Evaluate emergency lighting and related life safety provisions.
  • Inspect other emergency equipment required for building safety.
  • Review building layouts as part of fire and evacuation risk assessments.
  • Analyze occupancy classifications and their associated safety requirements.
  • Consider structural and architectural conditions that may influence fire or life safety performance.
  • Conduct systematic hazard identification during inspections.
  • Identify fire code violations and unsafe conditions.
  • Evaluate the severity and potential consequences of observed deficiencies.
  • Prepare detailed inspection reports supported by clear technical observations.
  • Record photographs, measurements, and supporting evidence where appropriate.
  • Maintain consistent documentation of inspection findings.
  • Communicate violations and hazards to facility managers, property representatives, and responsible stakeholders.
  • Recommend technically appropriate corrective actions for identified deficiencies.
  • Explain required improvements clearly to contractors and building representatives.
  • Monitor remediation activities to confirm that corrective measures are completed.
  • Coordinate with contractors and stakeholders to resolve outstanding safety concerns.
  • Maintain records of inspections, permits, approvals, and compliance documentation.
  • Organize inspection information for future audits and regulatory review.
  • Support preparation of formal reports for management and relevant authorities.
  • Present significant fire and life safety findings to project leadership.
  • Respond to reported complaints involving fire safety or life safety conditions.

  • Maintain inspection equipment in suitable working condition.
  • Support risk assessments associated with fire and emergency conditions.
  • Identify recurring safety issues and recommend preventive measures.

  • Apply updated regulatory requirements to future inspection activities.
  • Support compliance with Saudi Arabian fire safety regulations where applicable.
  • Use inspection management software and digital documentation platforms where available.
  • Maintain accurate digital inspection records and follow-up logs.
  • Manage multiple inspection assignments while maintaining quality and response deadlines.
  • Coordinate site access and inspection schedules efficiently.
  • Support fire and life safety awareness sessions when required.
  • Contribute technical input to safety training and emergency preparedness initiatives.
  • Work independently while escalating significant or urgent safety issues appropriately.

Comprehensive knowledge of fire codes, building codes, and life safety regulations is required. Strong report writing and documentation skills are required. Inspection findings should be technically accurate, clearly organized, and supported by appropriate evidence. Experience using inspection instruments and field tools is expected. Familiarity with inspection management software and digital record systems is preferred. Knowledge of Saudi Arabian fire safety requirements and previous inspection experience within the Kingdom will be advantageous.
