Job summary

AtkinsRéalis is seeking an experienced Field Engineer - Materials in Riyadh to oversee material engineering, testing, inspection and compliance for a major site supervision project. You will work with Resident Engineer, QA/QC, contractors and labs to ensure all construction materials meet specifications and regulatory requirements.

The ideal candidate has 8+ years in material engineering or testing, strong knowledge of ASTM/ACI/BS/ISO/EN standards, and excellent English communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field (Civil/Materials/Construction) with strong QA/QC focus.
• 8+ years in material engineering, testing or construction supervision.
• 5+ years as Materials Engineer/Inspection on major build projects.
• Experience with large-scale buildings or hospitality projects preferred.
• Knowledge of ASTM/ACI/BS/ISO/EN and Saudi codes is essential.
• Fluency in English; Arabic is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Oversee material-related activities to ensure compliance with specs and contractual requirements.
• Review material submittals, data sheets, certifications, and manufacturer docs.
• Verify materials delivered on site meet approved submissions and standards.
• Conduct site inspections for proper storage, handling, and usage of materials.
• Coordinate sampling, testing, and lab inspections for construction materials.
• Monitor testing of concrete, cement, aggregates, steel, waterproofing and finishes.
• Review lab reports and ensure compliance with standards.
• Coordinate with accredited labs and third-party agencies.
• Maintain ITPs and ensure material traceability and records.
