Job summary

Bechtel is seeking a Night shift ES&H Advisor for the Ar Rjum Project in Saudi Arabia. You will support the ESH management programs, oversee safety and environmental activities, and ensure risk is controlled for people, property, and the environment.

Responsibilities include verifying night work plans and JHAs, monitoring program implementation, conducting site inspections, leading investigations, and coordinating with client and ESH teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor degree or higher in an ESH discipline.
• NEBOSH Certification.
• 6-8 years of ESH experience in industrial construction or heavy engineering.
• 2+ years supervising a team of 3 to 4 ESH professionals.
• 2+ years of ESH experience in a complex work environment.

Responsibilities

• Actively supports area leaders in the implementation of the ESH program.
• Verify that approved Night Work Plans, Method Statements, JHAs, FLHAs, permits, and activity briefings are available and understood by the workforce before night work begins.
• Monitors the implementation of the ESH program and reports successes and areas of improvement.
• Conduct night shift site inspections to confirm safe work execution, adequate supervision, workface controls, housekeeping, access and egress, barricading, signage, and traffic management.
• Identifies best practices for implementation.
• Maintains a working relationship with client representatives, leaders and other ESH team members.
• Participates in area leader meetings to identify and report on ESH requirements.
• Acts as the lead investigator for any significant incident in their area.
• Supervises and maintains a team that provides in-field ESH support to all construction areas.
• Identifies activities that directly reduce risk.
• Acts as the lead investigator for any significant incident in the field.
• Supervises and maintains a team that provides in-field environmental support.
• Acts as the ESH focal point for night shift.
• Verify that emergency preparedness arrangements are available during night work.

Project Overview:

The Ar Rjum Project comprises a green field gold project with three open pit mining operations with associated waste dumps and ore stockpile, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure including water supply, power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, temporary and permanent accommodation village.
The Project is situated within the Central Arabian Gold Region, approximately 200 km north-east of Taif towards Riyadh and about 26 km South of Al Mouwayh, which is a small town situated on the Jeddah - Riyadh highway.

Job Summary:

The Night shift ES&H advisor supports the implementation of ESH management programs, systems and processes; provides the technical oversight of the environment, safety and health activities; and provides the overall support for a specific area to be successful in controlling the risk of harm to people, property and the environment.

Major Responsibilities:

Education and Experience Requirements:

• Bachelor degree or higher in an ESH discipline
• NEBOSH Certification
• 6-8 years of ESH experience in the industrial construction or heavy engineering industry.
• 2+ years of experience directly supervising a team of 3 to 4 ESH professionals
• 2+ years of ESH experience in a complex work environment
