Job summary

Egisgroup is seeking an experienced Electrical Design Lead to head the electrical design team for airport terminal projects in Saudi Arabia. You will oversee power distribution, lighting, fire safety, and emergency power, ensuring integration with MEP systems and adherence to schedules and budgets.

You will mentor junior engineers, coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural teams, and ensure designs meet Saudi building codes and international airport standards.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in Electrical design with a focus on electrical design and systems.
• Preferred experience designing electrical systems for airport projects.
• Leadership experience managing engineering teams and mentoring junior staff.
• Advanced proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design tools.

Responsibilities

• Lead the electrical design team in developing comprehensive MEP designs for airport terminal facilities, including power distribution systems, lighting design, fire safety systems, and emergency backup systems etc...
• Analyze project requirements and develop detailed electrical design solutions that meet airport operational needs, safety standards, and sustainability objectives
• Coordinate with mechanical, plumbing, and architectural teams to ensure seamless integration of all MEP systems within the airport infrastructure
• Manage the design process from concept through construction documentation, ensuring adherence to project schedules and budgets
• Review and approve all electrical design deliverables, including drawings, specifications, and calculations, for accuracy and compliance
• Mentor and develop junior engineers and designers, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and technical excellence
• Ensure all designs comply with Saudi building codes, international airport standards, and applicable regulations
• Utilize BIM and advanced design software to create coordinated, clash-free models and documentation
• Communicate design decisions and project status to stakeholders, clients, and project management teams
• Participate in design reviews, value engineering sessions, and problem-solving initiatives to optimize project outcomes

Qualifications

• Minimum 10+ years of experience in Electrical with a strong focus on electrical design and systems
• Preferred designing electrical systems for airport projects
• Preferred but not required direct experience on airport, aviation, or large-scale infrastructure projects
• Demonstrated leadership experience managing engineering teams and mentoring junior staff
• Advanced proficiency in design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and electrical design tools
• Strong knowledge of building codes, electrical standards, and airport-specific design requirements
• Expertise in power distribution systems, lighting design, fire safety systems, and emergency power solutions
• Solid understanding of BIM (Building Information Modeling) principles and coordination practices
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
• Proficiency in project management and ability to manage multiple design workstreams simultaneously
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary teams
• Familiarity with Saudi Arabian building regulations and international airport design standards
• Preferred: LEED accreditation or sustainable design certification
• Preferred: Experience with advanced energy modeling and sustainable electrical design practices
