EHS Engineer: Site Safety & Compliance Leader

Job summary

Larsen & Toubro is seeking an EHS professional to prepare and maintain EHS plans, conduct site inspections, and lead training initiatives on construction sites in Riyadh. The role requires coordinating with clients, main contractors, and project teams to uphold ISO 45001/14001/9001 standards.

You will perform risk assessments, manage work permits, and oversee daily safety practices, toolbox talks, and emergency drills to safeguard workers and ensure compliance across activities.

Responsibilities

• Prepare EHS documents (EHS plan, emergency response plan, risk assessment).
• Attend EHS meetings with client and project team.
• Report EHS issues to HO.
• Provide EHS induction training to new workers.
• Conduct daily EHS inspections for assigned zone.
• Ensure proper work permits are obtained by Engineers/Supervisors from Clients/Main Contractors.
• Conduct risk assessments and inform Site Engineers/Clients/MainContractors of high-risk areas.
• Deliver toolbox talks weekly to promote EHSAwareness.
• Ensure PPE usage and proper site conditions (lighting, ventilation).
• Inspect ladders and scaffolding for safe condition before use.
• Maintain health and hygiene provisions (water, rest area).
• Promote good housekeeping and conduct monthly risk audits.
• Conduct Job EHS Analysis on high-risk activities and implement findings.
• Encourage safe practices and lead incident investigations as needed.
• Communicate investigation results to workers and engineers for future precautions.
• Administer first-aid or seek medical assistance as required.
• Maintain EHS documentation and coordinate audits per ISO standards.
• Coordinate external EHS audits and third-party inspections.
• Prepare Emergency Preparedness Plans and conduct drills.
• Support Work Permit System implementation and health programs.
• Stop work for unsafe practices and drive corrective actions.
• Carry out monthly Risk Management Audits and quarterly system audits.
• Provide EHS reports to project head and IC Head.
