Job summary

Beond is seeking a Director of Safety for its Saudi Arabia AOC based in Riyadh. This senior role requires strong aviation safety leadership, regulatory knowledge and SMS oversight across the operation.

Fluent English is preferred, Arabic is advantageous. The successful candidate will manage the SMS, lead risk management, and coordinate with GACA to uphold safety and compliance within a fast-growing multi-AOC group.

Qualifications

Job description

Beond is the world's first premium leisure airline, flying an all-lie-flat Airbus fleet, and is standing up new Air Operator Certificates in Bahrain (BCAA) and Saudi Arabia (GACA). We are seeking a Director of Safety for our Saudi Arabia AOC (General Authority of Civil Aviation), based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

The Director of Safety is appointed by, and reports to, the Accountable Executive, and is responsible for:

• Own and administer the Safety Management System (SMS) across the Saudi AOC.
• Lead hazard identification, risk management, safety assurance and a just reporting culture.
• Manage safety performance indicators, the safety review board and safety promotion.
• Provide independent safety oversight of operations and maintenance activities.
• Interface with GACA on safety matters, audits and findings.

This is a required management position under GACAR Part 121.45. The post is full-time and the successful candidate must be acceptable to GACA (the President) based on experience, competence and knowledge, with a full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements and the operations manual (GACAR 121.45(e), (g)).

Mandatory

• Serve full time in the position (GACAR 121.45(a)).
• Qualified through training, experience and expertise in aviation safety management.
• Full understanding of the GACAR, the operations specifications, applicable airworthiness requirements and the operations manual; must be acceptable to GACA (GACAR 121.45(e), (g)).

Desirable

• Recognised safety-management qualification and SMS implementation experience.
• AOC stand-up experience.
• Fluent English; Arabic advantageous.
