Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Engineering Department.

• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs to minimize downtime.
• Oversee MEP systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, environmental, and statutory requirements.
• Monitor and control energy, water, and utility consumption and pursue cost savings.
• Prepare and manage the Engineering Department’s annual budget and capex needs.
• Plan and oversee engineering projects, renovations, and major repairs.
• Coordinate with other hotel departments to minimize disruption to operations and guests.
• Lead, supervise, train, and develop Engineering team members to high standards.
• Manage contractors, consultants, and external service providers safely and efficiently.
• Ensure prompt response to emergencies and guest-related maintenance issues.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, inspections, and projects.
• Conduct regular inspections and identify risks, defects, and maintenance needs.
• Ensure all engineering works comply with policies, brand standards, and local regulations.

Job Purpose
The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading and managing the Engineering Department, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation and maintenance of all hotel facilities, equipment, systems, and infrastructure in accordance with hotel standards, brand requirements, and applicable local regulations.

• Develop and implement preventive and corrective maintenance programs to ensure operational efficiency and minimize equipment downtime.
• Oversee all MEP systems, including mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and other building systems.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, fire, environmental, and statutory requirements.
• Monitor and control energy, water, and utility consumption and implement initiatives to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.
• Prepare and manage the Engineering Department’s annual budget, operating expenses, and capital expenditure requirements.
