Job summary

Webook in Saudi Arabia seeks a Senior DevOps Engineer to own deployment, automation, and reliability of production systems. You will drive CI/CD improvements, design scalable infrastructure, and collaborate across product, QA, and development teams to keep systems robust and secure.

The role requires experience with AWS/GCP, Kubernetes, and scripting across Unix/Linux environments, focusing on high-availability SaaS operations and automated recovery.

Qualifications

• GCP experience preferred; AWS DevOps certification preferred.

Key Responsibilities

• Focus on improving scalability, robustness, and automation of tools and processes; expand capabilities to support new features.
• Own deployment and optimization of production systems with a sense of ownership.
• Ensure support tools enable continuous integration, testing, and production deployment.
• Shape and implement strategic solutions to keep systems on the bleeding edge of technology.
• Contribute to the technology stack, including web development, API development, DB communication, handshake, performance, and security measures.
• Ensure systems are operational, visible, and designed for auto-recovery in case of disaster.
• End-to-end development and production system operations including system maintenance, monitoring, logging, notification, automation, and backend operations.
• Improve system performance and stability; propose new technologies and tools to improve development, testing, and production operations.
• Collaborate with project, product, tech, and QA teams across functions.
• Continuously improve DevOps tools, processes, and procedures.
• Build, maintain, and scale infrastructure for Production, QA, and Development environments.
• Develop and maintain Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) systems.
• Deploy automation solutions in public cloud environments (e.g., AWS).
• Participate in the design, implementation, and maintenance of systems and tools across the cloud stack.
• Work with Development and QA teams to ensure end-to-end quality.
• Write and maintain infrastructure documentation.
• Work with third-party vendors to resolve infrastructure issues.

Qualifications & Experience

• A track record of building and maintaining large-scale software products.
• Experience delivering high-uptime Software-as-a-Service applications.
• Demonstrated ability to proactively manage tasks, projects, and issues.
• Experience in handling high-traffic production systems, troubleshooting, automation, and regular operations.
• Familiarity with web development technologies and exposure to their build and deployment.
• Experience with CI/CD mechanisms using Jenkins, Nexus, Docker Registry, GitLab, Ansible, Terraform.
• Good knowledge of SaaS, cloud infrastructure, and other enterprise-related technologies.
• Experience with AWS and Google Cloud (GCP).
• Experience with container orchestration (Kubernetes).
• Strong scripting skills (Shell, Python, etc.).
• Strong knowledge of Unix-based systems.
• Experience with version control (Git) and deployment/configuration tools (Ansible, Chef, Puppet, etc.).
• Familiarity with microservice architecture and distributed systems concepts.
• Minimum of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field.
• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience as a Senior DevOps Engineer (or equivalent).
• GCP experience preferred; AWS Certified DevOps Engineer Professional preferred; Google Certified Professional Cloud Architect preferred.
