Job summary

NES Fircroft in Jubail, Saudi Arabia, seeks a Contract Advisor to support Package 4 on the AMIRAL Petrochemical Expansion Project. This senior role focuses on EPC contract administration, negotiations, and ensuring auditable records to protect project objectives.

You will coordinate with PMT teams, handle claims and variations, monitor performance, and drive compliant procurement and contracting across multinational teams.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, surveying, business, law, contracts or related discipline.
  • 10–15 years of contract management experience in Oil & Gas.
  • Experience during EPCC phases of large-scale projects.
  • Experience in Saudi Arabia or the Middle East.
  • Strong contract negotiation and stakeholder management skills.
  • Fluent written and spoken English.

Responsibilities

  • Provide expert support to Package Management on all contractual and commercial matters.
  • Ensure all contractual decisions and negotiations are properly documented and auditable.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
  • Draft and coordinate contract amendments for management approval.
  • Support the implementation of contract management procedures and governance processes.
  • Review and assess contractor claims and requests for additional compensation.
  • Develop claim defense strategies and responses to contractor submissions.
  • Manage change orders and variation requests with Package Management.
  • Maintain and monitor contract deviation registers.
  • Identify potential contractual risks and notify Project Controls of events that may lead to claims.
  • Monitor contractor performance and contractual effectiveness.
  • Support achievement of contract management, cost control, and value improvement objectives.
  • Prepare contractor performance evaluations.
  • Assist in notices of default and liquidated damages assessments where applicable.
  • Verify final financial settlements and contract close-out.

About the Project

The AMIRAL Project is a strategic joint venture between TotalEnergies and Saudi Aramco, integrated with the existing SATORP refinery in Jubail, Saudi Arabia. The project represents a major petrochemical expansion with an investment exceeding USD 10 billion, comprising multiple EPCC packages and extensive stakeholder interfaces.

Position Overview

The Contract Advisor will support Package Management in all contract administration and commercial matters related to Package 4. The role is responsible for ensuring that contractual decisions, negotiations, changes, claims, and commitments are managed effectively, documented in an auditable manner, and aligned with project objectives. The successful candidate will provide expert guidance on EPC contract management, facilitate contractor negotiations, and contribute to the successful delivery of one of the Middle East's largest petrochemical developments.

Key Responsibilities
Contract Administration & Management
  • Provide expert support to Package Management on all contractual and commercial matters.
  • Ensure all contractual decisions, commitments, and negotiations are properly documented and auditable.
  • Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations and project requirements.
  • Administer contract correspondence and maintain accurate contractual records.
  • Draft and coordinate contract amendments for management approval.
  • Support the implementation of contract management procedures and governance processes.
Claims & Change Management
  • Review and assess contractor claims and requests for additional compensation.
  • Develop claim defense strategies and prepare responses to contractor submissions.
  • Manage change orders and variation requests in collaboration with Package Management.
  • Maintain and monitor contract deviation registers.
  • Identify potential contractual risks and notify Project Controls of events that may lead to claims.
Performance & Commercial Management
  • Monitor contractor performance and contractual effectiveness.
  • Support achievement of contract management, cost control, and value improvement objectives.
  • Prepare contractor performance evaluations.
  • Assist in the preparation of notices of default and liquidated damages assessments where applicable.
  • Verify final financial settlements and support contract close-out activities.
Stakeholder Coordination
  • Coordinate with PMT teams across multiple EPCC packages to ensure a consistent contractual approach.
  • Interface with contractors, consultants, suppliers, auditors, and project stakeholders.
  • Support handover activities to operations at project completion.
  • Promote sharing of lessons learned and continuous improvement in contract management practices.
Qualifications
Education
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Business, Law, Contracts Management, Procurement, or a related discipline.
  • Professional background in contracts, procurement, and commercial management.
  • Knowledge of refining and petrochemical technologies is preferred.
  • Familiarity with TotalEnergies and Saudi Aramco standards is advantageous.
Experience
  • 10 to 15 years of contract management experience within the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Experience during EPCC phases of large-scale industrial projects.
  • Proven track record negotiating contracts on behalf of operators, contractors, suppliers, or consultants.
  • Previous experience in Saudi Arabia or the wider Middle East region.
  • Experience working within multinational and multicultural project environments.
  • Good understanding of HSSE, construction, and major project execution requirements.
