Job summary

CMA CGM in Saudi Arabia is seeking a Logistics Officer in Jeddah to manage container movements, coordinate with terminals, and support daily logistics operations.

You will collaborate with sales, planning and external partners to forecast needs, monitor equipment utilization, and ensure compliance with internal procedures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in logistics or related field.
• 2-4 years experience in container management or logistics.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; experience in logistics software (TMS/EDI) preferred.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Capable of working independently and in a team.

Responsibilities

• Monitor and manage container movements, ensuring accuracy of tracking, documentation and adherence to schedules.
• Coordinate with terminals for efficient loading and unloading of containers; resolve issues related to container handling.
• Generate daily reports on container status, movements, and availability for stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate records of empty and full container inventory, including discrepancies, maintenance, and repairs.
• Forecast and analyze with sales/planning teams to monitor equipment utilization against forecasts and actuals.
• Analyze trends in container flows and provide insights for capacity planning.
• Act as liaison between internal teams and external partners to ensure clear communication.
• Ensure compliance with company policies related to container management and logistics operations.
• Track logistics costs and prepare monthly reports detailing expenses and variances from budget.
• Address issues of idle, damaged or lost containers and coordinate resolution.
• Investigate operational issues to develop preventative measures and improve efficiency.
• Respond to customer inquiries regarding container status and processes.
