Summary
Within the mission, vision and values of Saudi Arabian Ministry of National Guard – Health Affairs, the physician is responsible for performing procedural and consultative duties as assigned by the Department Chairman.
Education/Qualifications Required:
- Basic medical degree from recognized institution
- Post-qualification certification
- Qualification Source from: North America, Western Europe, Australia or New Zealand.
- USA: American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (ABOMS)
- Canada: Royal College of Dentists of Canada (FRCDC) in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
- UK and Ireland: GMC/CCST Specialist Register or GDC specialist list in Oral Surgery
- Australia and New Zealand: Fellowship from the Royal College (FRACDS) in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery
- Western Europe: Equivalent certification to the above
Experience Post-Qualifications:
- Minimum Three (3) years after board/equivalent certification in USA, Canada, Ireland, UK, Australia, New Zealand and France (DES).
- Minimum Five (5) years after board/equivalent certification in Spain, Germany, Italy, Portugal, Belgium, Denmark, Sweden, Switzerland, Norway, Austria, Netherlands, Greece and France (DIS).
License:
Current and in a Good Standing Medical License to practice in country of residence.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-standard, quality care for patients with complex oral, maxillofacial, and craniofacial conditions in line with NGHA mission and values
- Serve as the Most Responsible Physician (MRP) for inpatients, leading multidisciplinary teams in combined care approaches
- Diagnose, plan, and perform advanced surgical and non-surgical procedures for oral and maxillofacial conditions, including trauma, pathology, reconstructive, and aesthetic cases
- Coordinate referrals and manage patient care transitions with other specialties (e.g., orthodontics, plastic surgery, ENT, oncology)
- Provide consultation services to divisions and departments across the organization during regular hours and on-call
- Maintain procedural and diagnostic privileges as per qualifications and departmental regulations
- Participate in on-call coverage per department rules
- Actively contribute to departmental quality improvement projects
- Supervise and mentor junior staff, setting a high standard for clinical practice and professionalism
- Serve on committees as appointed by department leadership or executive management
- Engage in scientific research, contribute to education and postgraduate training as per department policy
- Pursue ongoing professional development and participate in educational activities for skill and knowledge advancement
- Advocate for the health and well-being of patients, families, and the community
- Observe all organizational and departmental rules and bylaws, ensuring ethical and professional practice
- Perform other relevant duties and responsibilities as assigned by the department chairman or executive leadership
