Job summary

Jacobs in Saudi Arabia seeks a Commissioning Management Consultant to join our project delivery team on a site-based basis (KSA). You will review method statements, supervise on-site testing, maintain commissioning records and contribute to the development of commissioning plans and programs.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Mechanical, Electrical or Control Systems Engineering, 8+ years of commissioning experience, and a BCxP/CBCP/NEBB certification.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics/Control System Engineering.
  • 8+ years of commissioning experience in building design (MEP) and handover.
  • Commissioning certification such as BCxP, CBCP or NEBB.

Responsibilities

  • Review commissioning docs, drawings and method statements to meet project requirements.
  • Supervise on-site testing and commissioning activities and reviews.
  • Maintain commissioning records and develop CAS, commissioning plan and program.
  • Monitor handover from construction to operation and prepare final reports.
  • Support sustainability ratings and LEED/Mostadam related deliverables.

As part of our consulting works in the Kingdom and forecasted increase in a portfolio of projects, we are seeking a Commissioning Management Consultant to join our team in the Kingdom. This is a site-based role (remote, KSA), where the resource will be deployed full-time on the project. As a Commissioning Consultant, you will be working as an integral part of our project delivery team, delivering inputs in reviewing method statements, attending inspections and assisting the team and project leads in Commissioning Activities and related deliverables. The opportunity will allow you to work with Jacob’s delivery team based in UAE and KSA, client offices, client’s internal stakeholders, project proponents, designers, and contractors.

About The Opportunity
  • Review documents and drawings for commission-ability, testing and commissioning method statements, pre-functional and functional checklists, operations and maintenance manuals and training material against international guidelines and standards to meet project and design requirements. Review and assess building envelope performance.
  • Supervise and approve on site testing and commissioning activities in accordance with project guidelines and method statements and review designs. Attend daily testing and commissioning inspections and site visits
  • Maintain commission records of site observations, testing processes and checklists, outline procedures, norms, details for writing the systems manual and guide testing processes.
  • Provide inputs for the development and Update of Commissioning Activity Sheets (CAS) to track and monitor the testing and commissioning activities.
  • Provide inputs for the development of Commissioning Plan and Commissioning Program.
  • Monitor the handover activities from construction phase to commissioning stage to handover stage and operation stage. Training manuals review and training experience.
  • Track and review progress through meetings, evaluate contractual commissioning statistics and instruction guidelines in accordance with the needs of the project.
  • Compile commissioning report data for summarizing, assist in summarizing and updating commissioning records with weekly and monthly progress reports.
  • Deliver several projects targeting Sustainability Ratings; such as LEED, Mostadam, and prepare Final Commissioning Reports as per client and sustainability rating requirements.
Here’s what you’ll need
  • As a successful candidate you will have a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Electrical or Electronics/ Control System Engineering, and a good understanding on commissioning processes related to MEP building systems and infrastructure projects
  • The successful candidate should be able to demonstrate extensive experience in building design (MEP), construction supervision, testing and commissioning, energy management, operations and maintenance, handover, engineering, and management
  • The successful candidate should hold a minimum 8-year experience in the field
  • A Commissioning certification from the ASHRAE Building Commissioning Professional (BCxP) / AEE Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP) / NEBB
  • Understanding of ASHRAE ASHRAE Guideline 0/202, ASTM E2813/E2947, and NIBS Guideline 3
  • Sustainability rating accreditation experience and certification is preferable such as LEED AP, Mostadam AP or similar.
  • Preferably, with a multi-disciplinary background in MEP systems.
