Job summary

The Golden Compass is an independent international Consulting, Drilling, and Services practice providing focused advice and solutions, and services contracting to the earth resource industry.

The CFO/Finance Director will lead budgeting, forecasting, and reporting, ensuring SOCPA/IFRS alignment and strong internal controls across asset-heavy contracts in Saudi Arabia.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
• Professional qualification: SOCPA, CPA, ACCA, or CA.
• 10+ years in finance, including 3+ years as CFO, Finance Director, or Financial Controller in a company with revenue over SAR 50 million.
• 3+ years in Saudi Arabia with hands-on ZATCA compliance experience.
• Experience in asset-heavy or contracting businesses.
• Strong ERP skills, Odoo experience preferred.
• Fluent English, Arabic strongly preferred.
• Saudi National.

Responsibilities

• Lead the annual budget and five-year business plan with the CEO for EXCOM review and Board approval.
• Run rolling forecasts, deliver monthly management packs, build rig-level economics, and evaluate fleet capital expenditure.
• Financial Reporting & Close: Own the month-end close calendar, prepare annual IFRS financial statements under SOCPA, and manage external audit.
• Treasury, Cash & Funding: Manage daily liquidity, bank accounts, bank facilities, letters of guarantee, and performance bonds.
• Tax, Zakat & Regulatory Compliance: Clear VAT and WHT arrears with ZATCA, file zakat returns, and maintain compliance calendars.
• Internal Control & Risk: Design internal control framework, maintain Odoo approval rules, and manage risk registers.
