One of our clients is in the Power Industry, Saudi Arabia, and is hiring for the position of a BESS Field Service Engineer (Battery Energy Storage Systems).

Location: Asir Region (Najran, Abha, and Jazan)

Years of Experience: 3 - 5

Education:

• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Electro-Mechanical Engineering
• Strongly preferred for mid-to-senior-level roles.
• Candidates with the technical knowledge required for HV/LV systems, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks.

• Diploma in Electrical/Electro-Mechanical Engineering (if combined with extensive field experience)

Notice Period: Immediate joiners or a maximum one-month notice period.

Job Description:

The BESS Field Service Engineer will perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, warranty repairs, and commissioning activities on energy storage units at various BESS sites. This role reports to the OM Manager.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Maintain Energy Storage Systems through regular inspection, maintenance, capacity tests, troubleshooting, and reactive repairs.
• Perform system software and firmware upgrades.
• Monitor operational performance and analyze data.
• Provide phone support and remote diagnostics to customers.
• Troubleshoot equipment at BESS sites.
• Manage spare parts inventory.
• Ensure safety standards and local safety regulations are followed.
• Conduct risk assessments and implement safety measures.
• Complete administrative duties like timesheets, vehicle checks, and daily logs.
• Assist in product development and project work with the in-house engineering team.
• Suggest improvements based on field experience.

Essential Requirements:

• Qualification in electrical or electro-mechanical disciplines.
• Previous electrical or multi-skilled maintenance experience.
• Basic IT skills (Word, Outlook, Excel, troubleshooting software).
• Qualification to work safely on site.

Note: This role involves travel to various sites, with possible overnight stays or international travel.

Preferred Experience (not essential):

• Experience with BESS systems.
• Knowledge of HV/LV power electronics, inverters, converters, transformers.
• HV accreditation and HVAC training, F-Gas qualification.

Strong IT knowledge including CMD, remote desktop, networking (subnet, VLANs, static IP/DHCP), MODBUS/TCP protocols.

• C&G2391-5 Test & Inspect or equivalent.
• Familiarity with BS7671.
• HV authorized person.
