Job summary

neoleap is hiring a backend engineer in Riyadh to design and develop scalable Java/Spring Boot services within a microservices architecture. You will own end-to-end delivery from design through production and optimize database interactions and inter-service communication.

You will build event-driven flows with Kafka, implement secure coding practices, and contribute to architecture and CI/CD improvements in OpenShift/Kubernetes. Mentorship and code reviews are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
• Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot in a microservices environment.
• Proficient in designing scalable backend services and APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable backend services and APIs in Java and Spring Boot within a microservices architecture.
• Own delivery of complex features end to end, from technical design through production.
• Design and optimize database interactions, integrations, and inter-service communication.
• Build and operate event-driven flows using Kafka and enterprise messaging.
• Ensure solutions meet security, performance, availability, and maintainability requirements.
• Apply secure coding practices for authentication, authorization, encryption, and sensitive data handling.
• Conduct code reviews and uphold engineering standards across the squad.
• Troubleshoot complex production issues and implement durable fixes.
• Contribute to technical design decisions and application architecture.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment, and observability on OpenShift/Kubernetes.
• Identify technical debt and drive improvements to design and code quality.
• Mentor junior engineers and share knowledge across the chapter.
