Job description
Overview

Assists inproviding medical care in the field of Adult Hematology/Step CellTransplantation & Cellular Therapy, and supervises interns and residents,in accordance with current medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations and the Organizationspolicies and procedures.

Responsibilities
  • Assists the Consultants inproviding required patient care and management in the field of AdultHematology/Step Cell Transplantation & Cellular Therapy, in accordance withstandards of medical care laid down by the Healthcare Delivery.
  • Studies and performs assessment,examination and the compilation of a case history and assists in the diagnosisand management of the patient in accordance with criteria listed in diagnosticmanuals such as the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.
  • Registers detailed medicalhistory, conducts a thorough physical examination and creates a plan forpatient management and follows-up for discussion with the Consultant.Subsequently, records the consultant’s orders, progress notes and other requireddocuments for outpatients.
  • Provides on-call coverage fortheir specialty on a rotational basis during evenings, nights, weekends andpublic holidays.
  • Prepares for and participatesin consultant and specialist ward rounds as per policy.Documents findings in medical records.
  • Follows up on investigationresults for outpatients and modifies treatment accordingly.
Education and Experience
  • Education: Graduation from a medicalschool in good standing, completion of required period of postgraduate trainingin a specialty and/or subspecialty, with Saudi/American Board or Canadian/UKcertification, or equivalent as outlined by the Medical Staff CredentialingCommittee.
  • Experience Required: Two (2) years of training inspecialty and subspecialty plus post-training experience required.
