Job summary

QatarEnergy Qatarization is seeking a senior professional to plan, coordinate and oversee the daily operations of the Hazardous Waste Treatment Centre (HWTC). You will ensure reliable, safe, and compliant treatment and disposal of hazardous waste in line with environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years in large chemical/oil & gas sectors, with 5+ years in hazardous waste management, strong regulatory knowledge, ability to analyze data and prepare technical reports, and fluent

Qualifications

• Minimum 10 years in large Chemical / Petrochemical / Oil & Gas industries with 5 years in Hazardous Waste Treatment/Management.
• Knowledge of laws, regulations and procedures related to Hazardous Waste classification, characterization, and treatment.
• Strong technical background to analyze data and prepare technical reports.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Familiar with international environmental rules and regulations (US EPA SW-846, 40CFR261/262/263/268).
• Experience reading engineering drawings, PFDs and P&IDs.
• Computer literacy is essential.

Job description

Primary Purpose of the Job

Plan, coordinate and oversee the daily operational activities of the Hazardous Waste Treatment Centre (HWTC) to ensure reliable, uninterrupted, optimized and safe operation of HWTC as well as ensure that received Hazardous Waste is treated and disposed of in line with the prevailing environmental regulations and Procedures.

Required Experience and Skills

• Minimum 10 years of experience in large Chemical / Petrochemical / Oil & Gas Industries with 5 years of working experience in Hazardous Waste Treatment / Management. Experience in Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) / Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) System will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of applicable laws, regulations and procedures related to Hazardous Waste Classification, Characterization and Treatment & Disposal Methods.
• Strong technical and scientific background to analyze and interpret pertinent data and documentation and ability to prepare technical reports.
• Excellent written and spoken English.
• Familiar with international environmental rules and regulations. Knowledge of US EPA SW-846, 40CFR261, 40CFR262, 40CFR263 and 40CFR268 will be an advantage.
• Incumbent shall be able read, understand and interpret Engineering drawings, Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs).
• Computer literacy is essential.

Educational Qualifications

B.Sc. / B.Tech degree in Chemical / Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science or Post Graduate in Organic / Inorganic Chemistry.
