Job summary

SPIEgroup is seeking a Senior Operator WWTP for their project in Ras Laffan, Qatar. The role involves supervising the operation of critical equipment and ensuring compliance with safe work practices.

Qualifications

Job description

Senior Operator WWTP

Job Purpose: This position is a unique opportunity with many advantages in the oil and gas career sector in one of the most important projects handled by SPIE in Qatar with QatarEnergy, in its 10th year.

Contract: 5-year multi‑discipline tasks in maintenance and operation of a large industrial area.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise operation of pumps, diesel engines, generators, compressors, blowers, stationary equipment, piping, valves, and waste water treatment plant.
• Ensure plant isolation procedures, lock‑out/tag‑out procedures, and permit‑to‑work procedures are followed.
• Supervise all related operation jobs, including plant isolation/de‑isolation, wastewater plant operation, chemical preparation, sanitation, and landscaping network.
• Coordinate and handle non‑routine and emergency works and ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards.
• Maintain good housekeeping and safety standards in the maintenance section.

Essential skills:

• Organization, time management, attention to detail, problem‑solving.
• Computer literacy, familiarity with MS Office 2000 and SAP for job planning, work order management, work confirmation, history entry, and report preparation.
• Understanding of safe work culture and practices.
• Strong verbal and written communication in English.

Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in engineering (Chemical, Environment, Mechanical or equivalent).
• 7+ years of experience in oil and gas, petrochemical, or similar industrial utilities.
• Experience in supervising STP/WWTP, utility plant or system operation.
• Experience operating utilities in oil and gas or petrochemical industry or major utility set‑ups.
• Experience with DCS and plant isolation procedures is an advantage.
• Good health and sound physique.
