Job summary

QatarEnergy Qatarization is seeking an experienced operations leader to supervise plant personnel and ensure safe, efficient operation of assigned facilities. You will coordinate shutdowns with Asset Operators and develop procedures while authorizing work permits for maintenance and projects.

The role requires strong reactor and control system knowledge, a track record in large utility environments, and excellent English communication skills to interface with multiple stakeholders.

Qualifications

• 10-12 years of utility operation experience including supervisory role.
• Strong working knowledge in industrial utilities and control systems.
• Good spoken and written English required.

Responsibilities

• Manage operating personnel and plant equipment for safe, efficient operation.
• Coordinate planned and emergency shutdown activities with Asset Operators.
• Develop operation procedures and approve work permits for maintenance and projects.

Job description

Primary Purpose of the Job

Manage and supervise operating personnel, plant and equipment for safe and efficient operation of the assigned Facilities to meet all Asset Operators requirements. Liaise with Asset Operators and other sections of operations department to coordinate planned and emergency shutdown activities.

Identify plant modification as per requirement. Develop operation procedures. Authorize work permits for the maintenance and project related activities. Accountable for optimised utilization of all call-off contracts. Responsible for ensuring the highest HSE standard for plant and personnel as per established guidelines. Responsible for managing HSE in contracts as per corporate guidelines. Responsible for providing O&M related inputs in all project related transmittals and for proper project turn-around at the time of hand-over.

Required Experience and Skills

• 10-12 years utility operation including at least 3 years in a supervisory position of a major Utility Department with complex control systems including DCS, PLC’s in a multiple industrial environment where the utilities are distributed on equitable basis.
• Strong working knowledge.
• Good level of spoken and written English.

Educational Qualifications

University graduate in Engineering plus adequate knowledge in operations.
