Job summary

ESP Engineered is seeking an Operations Excellence Head to lead process optimization across grocery e‑commerce dark stores. You will drive performance improvements, cost optimization, and overall efficiency in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment.

Responsibilities include developing KPIs, reducing order processing times, and standardizing best practices across locations. Collaboration with IT and category managers will be essential to optimize inventory placement and workflows.

Qualifications

• 5–7 years of experience in operations management, preferably in grocery e‑commerce or FMCG.
• Proven track record in process improvement, cost reduction, and team leadership.
• Experience designing efficient layouts for retail or e‑commerce operations.

Responsibilities

• Reduce order processing times and maximize throughput in picking/packing/delivery.
• Ensure accurate order fulfilment and high customer satisfaction.
• Identify bottlenecks via root cause analysis and implement solutions.

The Operations Excellence Head will lead and implement process optimization initiatives, drive performance improvements, and ensure operational efficiency across grocery e‑commerce dark stores. This role is pivotal in achieving high service levels, cost optimization, and overall operational excellence in a fast‑paced, technology‑driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the efficiency and effectiveness of dark store operations.
• Reduce order processing times, minimize resource wastage, and maximize throughput within picking, packing, and delivery workflows.
• Ensure accuracy in order fulfilment, maintain high customer satisfaction levels, and minimize order defects or delays.
• Identify and resolve bottlenecks in operational workflows through root cause analysis and structured problem‑solving.
• Standardize best practices across multiple dark store locations to maintain consistency in performance and service quality.
• Lead cross‑functional initiatives to integrate end‑to‑end supply chain processes, enhancing overall system efficiency.
• Design and implement optimized store layouts that prioritize efficiency in picking and packing workflows.
• Segment inventory storage by product category, demand frequency, and picking patterns to reduce picking time and improve order accuracy.
• Continuously evaluate and adjust layouts to meet evolving demand and product assortment changes.
• Collaborate with category managers, supply chain, IT, and systems teams to align inventory placement and picking strategies and leverage technology in automating and improving operations.
• Ensure effective use of inventory and order management systems (Odoo, Action Centre, PPS) and recommend technology solutions to support scale, efficiency, and quality.
