Job summary

Kempinski Doha is seeking an Assistant Groups & Events Manager to support the Groups & Events Sales Team in achieving revenue goals and coordinating client events. This role involves assisting the Director, attending meetings, handling RFPs, and ensuring timely responses and accurate data entry in the Opera system.

The ideal candidate has luxury hotel experience, strong leadership, and the ability to adapt in a dynamic market while driving upsell opportunities and maintaining strong client

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years in luxury hotels.
• Experience in Groups & Events management preferred.
• Reservations or Sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Groups and Events in department management.
• Attend meetings and client events in the absence of the Director of Groups and Events.
• Coordinate group and event requests (incl. leads, RFPs, etc.).
• Handle requests within five business hours of receipt.
• Apply the Kempinski MICE SOPs from Group Enquiry to Contracting.
• Ensure optimal utilization of Meeting and Conference Rooms.
• Carry out site inspections with potential MICE clients in coordination with Field Sales.
• Realize upsell opportunities to meet budget goals.
• Input, supervise and maintain requests in the Opera S&C System.
• Create activities to maintain bookings.
• Generate proposals and contracts.
• Follow up on sent proposals within 24 hours.
• Hand over converted business to Event Manager/Groups & Events Coordinator with all info.
• Introduce the Event Manager/Groups & Events Coordinator to the client.
• Conduct exit interviews with important customers after events.
• Cross-sell to other Kempinski hotels (and GHA).
• Review monthly results and forecasts to maximize revenue.
