Job summary

eXalt Fi in Lisbon, Portugal, seeks a hands-on Test Automation Architect to design and implement front-end, E2E and load testing frameworks within a product squad.

You will integrate tests into CI/CD, define standards, monitor quality, and coach developers and QA engineers, ensuring fast, reliable test gates across distributed systems.

Permanent Contract (CDI) or B2B | Hybrid (2 days/week on-site) | Lisbon, Portugal

Our client is the Lisbon tech center of one of Europe's leading independent wealth and asset managers. We are looking for a hands-on Test Automation Architect to join a product squad and its Quality Chapter.

You will design the front-end, end-to-end and load testing framework, plug it into the CI/CD pipeline, and enable developers to own their automated tests. An enabler, not a bottleneck.

• Framework Design: Build the front-end, E2E and load testing framework from the ground up.
• Standards & Best Practices: Define testing guidelines and make them the squad's default.
• CI/CD Integration: Wire automated tests into the pipeline with standardised reporting and dashboards.
• Quality Monitoring: Track coverage, stability and speed; cut flakiness and keep gates fast.
• Enablement & Coaching: Coach developers and QA engineers, and align with the group-wide Quality Engineering strategy.
• Background: Previous experience in software development and architecture (must).
• Test Automation Architecture: Strong track record designing front-end and E2E frameworks.
• Tooling: Hands-on Playwright, Cypress or Selenium, plus API testing tools. Load testing (k6, JMeter, Gatling) is a plus.
• CI/CD: Solid pipeline experience (GitHub Actions or similar) on web apps and distributed systems.
• Soft Skills: Clear communicator and coach, able to evangelise QA practices across squads.
• Languages & Location: Fluent English (mandatory), French a plus. Based in Portugal with a valid Portuguese work permit.
