Job summary

wBrain is seeking an experienced Project Manager to join a telecommunications project in Lisbon. You will coordinate the project lifecycle, gather and structure business and technical requirements, manage multiple stakeholders and ensure delivery of the defined scope.

You will be the bridge between business, technical and operations teams, ensuring clear requirements are documented and translated into actionable deliverables, with strong planning, governance, and risk management.

We are looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a technology project within the telecommunications sector. The successful candidate will coordinate the project throughout its lifecycle, gather and structure business and technical requirements, manage multiple stakeholders and ensure the successful delivery of the agreed scope.

The challenge

In this role, you will act as the link between business, technical and operational teams, ensuring that requirements are clearly understood, properly documented and translated into actionable project deliverables.

You will be responsible for planning and monitoring the project, coordinating stakeholders, managing risks and dependencies, and maintaining clear communication across all involved parties.

Main responsibilities

• Manage the project from initiation and planning through execution, monitoring and delivery;
• Gather, analyse and document business, functional and technical requirements;
• Organise and facilitate requirements-gathering sessions and stakeholder workshops;
• Translate business needs into clear project requirements, deliverables and acceptance criteria;
• Define and maintain the project plan, scope, milestones, priorities and timelines;
• Coordinate business, technical, operational and external supplier teams;
• Identify, engage and manage key stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle;
• Ensure clear and consistent communication between business and technology teams;
• Monitor project progress, deliverables, risks, issues, dependencies and action points;
• Anticipate potential constraints and define appropriate mitigation and contingency plans;
• Manage scope changes and assess their impact on timelines, resources and deliverables;
• Prepare and present project status reports to operational and senior management stakeholders;
• Lead project governance meetings and ensure effective decision-making and follow-up;
• Ensure that deliverables meet the agreed business, technical and quality requirements;
• Support testing, validation, implementation and transition-to-operations activities;
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation;
• Promote continuous improvement across project management processes and ways of working.

Profile we are looking for

• Solid professional experience as a Project Manager in technology or digital transformation projects;
• Previous experience in the telecommunications sector;
• Strong experience in requirements gathering, analysis and documentation;
• Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders with different priorities and levels of seniority;
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary business and technical teams;
• Strong knowledge of project planning, governance, risk management and delivery monitoring;
• Ability to translate complex business and technical information into clear and actionable requirements;
• Experience managing project scope, timelines, dependencies and change requests;
• Good understanding of technology delivery and software development lifecycles;
• Experience working with Agile, Waterfall or hybrid project management methodologies;
• Proficiency with project management and collaboration tools such as Jira, Confluence, Microsoft Project or equivalent;
• Strong analytical, organisational and problem-solving skills;
• Excellent communication, facilitation and negotiation capabilities;
• Ability to work autonomously, manage competing priorities and maintain a delivery-focused approach;
• Fluent English, both written and spoken.

Nice to have

• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Information Systems, Telecommunications, Business Management or a related field;
• Project management certification such as PMP, PRINCE2, Scrum or equivalent;
• Experience working with telecommunications networks, infrastructure, digital platforms, customer operations or service transformation;
• Experience managing third-party suppliers and technology partners;
• Knowledge of process mapping, business analysis and continuous improvement practices;
• Experience working in international and multicultural environments;
• Knowledge of Portuguese or another European language.
