Capgemini Engineering in Portugal is seeking a Senior Java Tech Lead to design and deliver enterprise applications within the pharmaceutical regulatory ecosystem. You will guide architecture, drive technical excellence, and lead development teams to create secure, scalable solutions in a highly regulated environment.

The role requires a CS/SE degree, 8+ years in Java, hands-on Spring Boot, microservices, REST APIs, CI/CD, and strong stakeholder communication.

YOUR ROLE

As a Senior Java Tech Lead, you will lead the technical design and delivery of enterprise applications supporting the pharmaceutical regulatory ecosystem in Portugal. You will be responsible for defining architecture, driving technical excellence, and guiding development teams to build secure, scalable, and high-quality solutions in a highly regulated environment.

YOUR PROFILE

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience in software development, with strong expertise in Java technologies.
• Proven experience in technical leadership and software architecture design.
• Strong knowledge of Java, Spring Boot, Microservices, REST APIs, and enterprise application development.
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Solid understanding of software security, performance optimization, and scalability principles.
• Experience conducting code reviews and promoting development best practices.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Experience working with Agile methodologies.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.

NICE TO HAVE

• Experience in the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or other highly regulated sectors.
• Knowledge of cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud.
• Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
• Familiarity with regulatory compliance and data protection requirements.
• Experience with modern frontend technologies and full-stack environments.
• Relevant certifications in Java, Cloud, Architecture, or Agile methodologies.
• Experience leading distributed or multidisciplinary teams.
