Job summary

Syensqo is seeking an Accounts Payable Intern to join our Lisbon office. You will process and verify vendor invoices, ensure payment accuracy, and enter invoices into our ERP workflows.

Hybrid working model in Lisbon, with a Portuguese base salary and meal and home-office allowances. You will work with the Accounts Payable Specialist to resolve issues, assist month-end closing, and propose improvements.

Qualifications

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or in a relevant domain.
• A first experience working in Accounts Payable process or in Accounting is preferred but not required.
• Good command of Excel, SAP knowledge is a plus

Responsibilities

• Process and verify vendor invoices and ensure payment accuracy.
• Enter and upload vendor invoices into various workflows/ ERP
• Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice
• Handle account reconciliation and monitor outstanding payments.
• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues
• Respond and resolve Users and Vendors inquiries
• Assist with month end closing
• Work in close collaboration with Accounts Payable Specialist for payment issues and propose actions to avoid them
• Recommend and implement process improvements.

Role and Responsibilities

• Process and verify vendor invoices and ensure payment accuracy.

• Enter and upload vendor invoices into various workflows/ ERP

• Flag and clarify any unusual or questionable invoice

• Handle account reconciliation and monitor outstanding payments.

• Research and resolve invoice discrepancies and issues

• Respond and resolve Users and Vendors inquiries

• Assist with month end closing

• Work in close collaboration with Accounts Payable Specialist for payment issues and propose actions to avoid them

• Recommend and implement process improvements.

• Perform controls following corporate procedures and compliance rules

Experience and Skills

• Degree in Accounting, Finance or in a relevant domain

• A first experience working in Accounts Payable process or in Accounting is preferred but not required

• Good command of Excel, SAP knowledge is a plus

• Analytical and organizational skills

• Customer -orientated with good level of problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently and take initiative.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills

• Fluent English (written and spoken), another language is a plus

What We Offer

• The Portuguese annual base salary reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: €11,280.00 for applicants who have completed or are completing a Bachelor's degree and €12,480.00 for applicants who have completed or are completing a Master's degree.
