Syensqo SA in Lisbon, Portugal is seeking an AP Payment Analyst to monitor and improve the payment process. You will ensure compliance, prevent leakage, and collaborate with the AP OPS team to resolve duplicate and overpayments while supporting fraud detection and process improvements.

The role requires a degree in Accounting or Finance, experience in procurement/finance, and strong English skills. A hybrid work model in Lisbon is offered.

We are looking for:

Reporting to Payments Global leader, the AP Payment Analyst will be accountable to monitor and analyze the payment process. He/she will ensure that AP is following the correct Payment Procedure and rules, identifying cash leakage, duplicate and/or over payments, prevent fraud, monitoring internal controls and segregation of duties within the payment process. This includes mitigating future risk by providing insights, best practices and root cause analysis.

We count on you for:

• Monitor and control the payment process, executing audit and random checks to guarantee compliance and quality improvement;- Monitor internal control results and segregation of duties;

• Develop, maintain, update and ensure the diffusion of the operational procedures;

• Receive coordination and coaching from the Payment Supervisor;

• Perform and promote problem solving, root-cause analysis on duplicate payment or overpayment issues working closely with AP OPS team;

• Ensure the recovery of the amount paid in duplicity;

• Propose improvements to prevent future leakage and ensure a global follow up for improvement plans;

• Support the Fraud and double payment detection process and provide reports;

• Support the due date changes control process together with the payment Supervisor;

• Support Operations on payment issues;

• Participate in payment process projects;

• Build and contribute to standard specific reports linked to payments;

• Develop and maintain effective working relationship with all relevant internal and external Stakeholders.

• Degree in Accounting, Business Management, Finance or in a relevant domain;

• Good experience in procurement, purchasing or finance domains; Accounting background.

Skills and behavioral competencies:

• SAP experience;

• Proactive with a high level of initiative and autonomy in the day to day organization;

• Customer-orientated with good level of problem solving skills;

• Ability to interact with all levels in the organization;

• Strong collaboration skills.

Language skills:

• Good level of spoken and written skills in English;

• Ability to speak the local language would be preferred.

You will get:

• The Portuguese annual base salary reasonably expected to be paid for this new hire is: €19,400.00 to €21,900.00. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as skills, experience, qualification and internal equity and can ultimately be more or less than the posted salary range.

• 16, or more, weeks of maternity/paternity and co-parenting leave, according to local regulations;

• Training platform for all employees;

• Free well-being sessions (physical and psychological).

Additional information:

• Hybrid work model with the requirement to be based at the office in Lisbon.
