Job summary

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems in Portugal is seeking a dynamic Supplier Development Engineer to coordinate APQP for New Product Launch components at our Viana plant. The role focuses on managing APQP progress with high-impact suppliers, and driving continuous improvement using Value Engineering, Kaizen, Lean deployment and Six Sigma.

You will ensure PPAP submissions are approved on time, train suppliers to client requirements, and collaborate cross-functionally to eliminate waste in the supply

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical/Electronic).
• Knowledge of TS 16949 requirements including APQP and PPAP.
• Automotive supplier quality experience preferred.
• Knowledge of SPC and quality tools.
• Ability to lead Kaizen events and drive continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Supplier APQP activity for New Product Launch components.
• Identify high-impact suppliers and monitor APQP progress.
• Drive Supplier Continuous Improvement using VE/Kaizen/Lean/Six Sigma.
• Review and disposition Supplier PPAP submissions.
• Train suppliers to client requirements and expectations.
• Conduct supplier quality audits and ensure QMS alignment.
