Job summary

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer for our new production plant in Viana, Portugal. The role centers on coordinating Supplier APQP activities for New Product Launch components, ensuring PPAP compliance and driving continuous improvement across the supplier base.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering (prefer Eletronics/Eletrical) with strong knowledge of TS 16949, APQP, PPAP and SPC.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (prefer Eletronics/Eletrical).
• Experience in TS 16949 including APQP and PPAP is required.
• Knowledge of SPC is required.
• Strong training or knowledge in Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean Deployment and Value Engineering/Value Analysis is required.
• Proven track record in running Kaizen events is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Supplier APQP activity for New Product Launch components.
• Visit suppliers to ensure APQP progress and process integrity.
• Remediate launch issues and communicate progress to clients.
• Lead supplier continuous improvement initiatives and PPAP submissions.
• Ensure PPAP timing meets launch objectives and document accordingly.
• Conduct supplier quality training at client facilities.
