Job summary

BorgWarner PowerDrive Systems seeks a dynamic Supplier Development Engineer to join our new production plant in Viana, Portugal. The role focuses on coordinating APQP activities for New Product Launch components and driving supplier improvements using Value Engineering, Kaizen, Lean, and Six Sigma methodologies.

You will identify high-impact suppliers, monitor APQP progress, train suppliers to client requirements, and ensure PPAP submissions meet timing targets while supporting continuous

Qualifications

• Experience with APQP and PPAP processes.
• Knowledge of SPC and 8-D problem solving.
• Experience Kaizen, Six Sigma, Lean methods.
• Automotive Tier 1 experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Identify high-impact suppliers and monitor APQP progress.
• Visit suppliers to ensure APQP progress and process integrity.
• Act as roadblock remover to meet APQP target dates.
• Lead supplier continuous improvement activities using VE/Kaizen/Lean.
• Ensure PPAP submissions are dispositioned and timely.
• Provide supplier quality training and conduct audits.
