Datadog is seeking a Staff Engineer for the Data Platform Experience team in Lisbon, Portugal. You will lead design and delivery of shared platform capabilities to reduce developer friction and improve operational visibility, while staying hands-on in code.

You will influence architecture across multiple teams, mentor engineers, and help product teams move faster through reusable platform services. This role combines distributed systems expertise with technical leadership in a hybrid work

Qualificações

• Experience designing and building large-scale SaaS or cloud platforms with distributed systems expertise.
• Strong software architecture and system design skills, leading complex tech initiatives across teams.
• Platform engineering mindset with reusable capabilities enabling other teams to move faster.

Responsabilidades

• Lead strategic initiatives to improve how product teams build, operate, and evolve services on the Observability Data Platform.
• Design and build scalable platform capabilities for cost intelligence and optimization recommendations.
• Develop operational intelligence and self-service tooling to monitor platform health and troubleshoot incidents.
• Drive reusable platform services and developer workflows to increase autonomy and reduce complexity.
• Provide technical leadership across teams through architecture influence and hands-on contributions.
