Discord Inc. is establishing an engineering hub in Lisbon and seeks a Staff Engineer to shape the Data Platform strategy and scalable infrastructure for millions of gamers.

You will own major initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product and business teams to translate complex problems into robust, open-source powered solutions.

This role requires leading with architectural vision, delivering production-grade data systems, and helping to define the Lisbon team's culture.

Qualificações

• 7+ years of software engineering with end-to-end delivery of large, ambiguous initiatives.
• Expertise in distributed systems and data infrastructure at scale.
• Ability to multiply a team's impact through architectural leadership and mentorship.
• Strong technical judgement on trade-offs.
• Cross-functional influence across engineering, product, and business.

Responsabilidades

• Own the technical direction of major Data Platform initiatives from problem to production.
• Build reusable primitives and raise quality across the team.
• Contribute production code while mentoring others.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to translate business problems into strategy.
