Sovos is building the future of tax compliance software. We seek a Software Engineer II in Portugal to contribute across the full software lifecycle, delivering reliable solutions with AI-assisted tooling and a focus on quality and collaboration.

You will work with Node.js/JavaScript and React, expose your skills in databases and APIs, and grow with a global team. This role emphasizes hands-on coding, teamwork, and continuous learning.

Qualificações

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• 1–3 years of software development experience.
• Fluency in Portuguese and English.
• Hands-on experience with Node.js/JavaScript and React.
• Experience with relational databases such as MySQL.
• Nice to have: Java, XML/XSD, Cypress, TypeScript, and RESTful API design.
• Background check will be required upon hire.

Responsabilidades

• Participate in the full software development lifecycle including planning and delivery.
• Develop with TDD and CI practices, using AI-assisted tools to improve quality.
• Collaborate with product teams to refine requirements and deliver solutions.
• Write clean, maintainable code aligned with Sovos standards and architecture.
• Work with senior developers to solve problems and maintain documentation.
