Job summary

InnoTech in Lisbon is seeking a Software Engineer (AI) to join our growth-focused team. You will work on AI-assisted development, modern stacks, and legacy modernization while delivering reliable software through the full lifecycle.

Ideal candidates have 4–6 years of professional software development experience, hands-on use of AI coding agents, and comfort with COBOL/Delphi-era tech alongside cloud and CI/CD tools. English fluency is valued.

Qualifications

• 4–6 years of professional software development experience with at least one modern tech stack (C#/.NET and/or React, TypeScript, or JavaScript).
• Hands-on experience using AI coding agents (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Claude Code) with rule/instruction workflows.
• Experience building agentic workflows and AI-powered tools; knowledge of SQL and automated testing.
• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD, and Agile; willingness to work with legacy tech (COBOL, Delphi, PowerBuilder, FoxPro, WinDev).
• CPLP nationality or EU work permit required.

• Develop and enhance apps with modern tech while maintaining legacy systems.

Your Mission Will Be

• Champion the daily use of AI coding agents, helping the team improve productivity and software quality through practical, hands-on examples;


• Develop and enhance applications using modern technologies while maintaining, understanding, documenting, and modernizing established legacy systems;


• Contribute to architectural decisions and modernization projects, ensuring existing business logic is accurately transferred into modern solutions;


• Establish reusable AI-assisted workflows, share knowledge with colleagues, and encourage the adoption of effective development practices;


• Deliver reliable software across the development lifecycle, collaborating with cross-functional teams to build, test, review, and deploy solutions.

You Will Need

• 4–6 years of professional software development experience, with solid knowledge of at least one modern technology stack, preferably C#/.NET and/or React, TypeScript, or JavaScript;


• Hands-on experience using AI coding agents such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or Claude Code, including the configuration of rules, instructions, and reusable workflows;


• Experience developing agentic workflows, MCP servers, or custom AI-powered development tools, alongside knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and automated testing;


• Familiarity with Git, CI/CD pipelines, and Agile methodologies, combined with a genuine willingness to work with both modern and legacy technologies, including COBOL, Delphi, PowerBuilder, FoxPro, and WinDev;


• CPLP nationality or an EU work permit is required to facilitate employment.

Would Be Awesome If You Have

• BSc or MSc in Computer Science/Engineering, Information Technology, or related fields;


• Previous experience with one or more legacy technologies, particularly COBOL, Delphi, PowerBuilder, FoxPro, or WinDev;


• Experience contributing to legacy modernization initiatives, system migrations, or the transition towards modern software architectures;


• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, as well as Docker and testing tools like Playwright, Cypress, or Newman;


• Fluency in English.
