iTRTech Group in Lisbon is seeking a Senior QA Automation Lead to drive quality assurance and test automation for a large international programme on OutSystems.

You will define the testing strategy, establish automation standards, build Playwright-based frameworks, and guide the QA team across multiple releases in a hybrid Lisbon work model.

The role demands 8+ years in QA, strong leadership, and hands-on automation with API/integration testing and CI/CD integration.

Qualificações

• 8+ years in Software QA and Testing.
• 4+ years leading QA or Test Automation teams.
• Hands-on experience with Playwright.
• Experience testing OutSystems applications.
• Experience building scalable automation frameworks from scratch.
• Knowledge of API, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or equivalent.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, SAFe or Kanban.
• Strong English communication skills.

Only candidates already based in Portugal will be considered.

Work Model: Hybrid — two to three days onsite per week

About The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced QA Automation Lead to lead quality assurance and test automation for a large international digital transformation programme based on the OutSystems platform.

You will define the testing strategy, establish automation standards and guide the QA team across multiple software releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and manage the QA and test automation strategy.
• Build and maintain automated test suites using Playwright.
• Establish automation frameworks for functional, regression, smoke, integration and end-to-end testing.
• Ensure coverage across web and mobile OutSystems applications.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Lead defect management, root cause analysis and quality improvements.
• Monitor quality metrics, automation coverage and release readiness.
• Coach QA engineers and promote a quality‑first culture.
• Collaborate with international business and technical teams.

Mandatory Requirements

• At least eight years of experience in Software QA and Testing.
• At least four years leading QA or Test Automation teams.
• Strong hands‑on experience with Playwright.
• Proven experience testing OutSystems applications.
• Experience building scalable automation frameworks from scratch.
• Solid knowledge of API, integration and end‑to‑end testing.
• Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
• Knowledge of Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, Jenkins or equivalent.
• Experience with Agile methodologies such as Scrum, SAFe or Kanban.
• Strong English communication skills.

Knowledge of performance, security and other non‑functional testing approaches will be valued.
