Job summary

Shakers is hiring a QA Automation Engineer to join the quality engineering team. The role involves designing, building and maintaining automated test suites across functional, integration and regression layers, and integrating tests into CI/CD pipelines in a hybrid setup in Lisbon or Porto.

You will work with Java, Selenium, Cypress and Playwright, plus API testing tools, following BDD/Cucumber practices in an Agile environment. Fluent English is required.

Qualifications

• BS/MS in Computer Science, Software Engineering or related IT discipline.
• 5 years in software testing, with at least 3 focused on test automation.
• Proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming.
• Hands-on with Selenium, Cypress and Playwright; API testing with Postman and Rest Assured.
• Experience with BDD and Cucumber for feature files.
• CI/CD tooling such as Jenkins, GitLab CI or CircleCI.
• Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum.
• Experience with performance/load testing tools such as JMeter or LoadRunner.
• Fluent English, written and spoken.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and maintain automated test suites across functional, integration and regression layers.
• Write and execute BDD feature files and keep the automation framework healthy as the product evolves.
• Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and keep execution reliable.
• Analyse failures, investigate defects with the development team and validate fixes.
• Contribute to performance and load testing scenarios.
