Workato is seeking a Senior System/Platform Architect in Lisbon to design scalable microservice platforms and secure architectures. You will drive end-to-end technical designs, evaluate existing systems, and guide cross-team initiatives while mentoring engineers.

The role emphasizes Golang coding, API design, and integration patterns with Kafka, gRPC, and PostgreSQL. Strong emphasis on security, zero-trust, and phased rollout strategies in a large enterprise context.

Qualificações

• 8+ years building scalable distributed systems; 3+ in system/platform architect roles.
• Experience architecting large microservice environments (100+ services) and monoliths.
• Strong hands-on Golang; write production-quality code.
• Proficiency with Protocol Buffers, gRPC, WebSockets, Kafka, PostgreSQL.
• Security-focused: OAuth 2.0/OIDC, JWT, mTLS, encryption, zero-trust.
• Know-how: Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD, Terraform; distributed patterns.

Responsabilidades

• Design microservices and platform features from concept to prod specs.
• Create technical designs and proofs-of-concept in Golang.
• Architect secure, fault-tolerant systems with automated failover.
• Plan migrations, deprecations, and phased implementation roadmaps.
• Lead architecture reviews and drive cross-team decisions.
• Mentor engineers and promote best practices.
