Job summary

Nestlé Business Solutions (NBS) in Portugal is seeking an Ocean Allocation Strategy Specialist to supervise allocation processes for ocean shipments, ensuring timely, compliant delivery and strong stakeholder collaboration across Markets and Carriers.

You will coordinate volumes, tender outcomes, and post-tender adjustments, driving continuous improvement and maintaining governance of Shipment Management Systems while aligning with global logistics procurement.

Qualifications

5+ years of experience in freight forwarding or shipping.
Strong customer service skills.
Knowledge of Physical Logistics and shipment flows.
Supply Chain project management experience.
Experience working with external providers.
Advanced English proficiency; Spanish is a plus.

Responsibilities

Consolidate and validate annual tender volumes, performing health checks and reviewing significant market variations.
Align with Markets and GLP on revised volumes, allocations, timing, and tender requirements, providing updates as needed.
Communicate annual allocation outcomes: allocated volumes, awarded carriers, contract terms, and transit times.
Coordinate with carriers—confirming awarded lanes, aligning on nominations, and sharing volumes ahead of ETD (4-6 weeks).
Manage post‑tender adjustments, including new lane requests and changes to rate or contract terms.
Monitor allocation performance regularly (weekly/monthly/quarterly) and inform carriers of changes.
Execute additional operational follow‑ups and support continuous improvement initiatives.
