Job summary

Decskill is seeking a Senior / Lead Conversational Experience Designer to shape the future of AI-enabled conversations. You will operate at the intersection of UX, AI, content, voice, product and data to turn powerful AI capabilities into natural, user-friendly interactions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in UX, Product Design or a related design discipline.
• 3+ years hands-on Conversational Design experience, with conversational agents deployed in production.
• Experience with GenAI / LLM-based agents, including prompt design and guardrails.
• Experience creating UX guidelines, conversational design systems or pattern libraries used by other teams.
• Excellent written communication in European Portuguese and English, with strong tone and clarity.

Responsibilities

• Design the conversational experience of client priority AI agents for customers and employees.
• Create conversations that are relevant, natural, and aligned with the brand while measurable.
• Define principles, patterns and standards to scale conversational AI across new use cases.
• Build a Conversational UX Guidelines / Pattern Library as the reference for teams designing AI experiences.
• Develop a scalable Conversational UX Guidelines framework for external customer text, internal employee experiences, and reusable patterns.

You’ll work at the intersection of UX, AI, content, voice, product and data, turning powerful AI capabilities into conversations that feel natural.

Your mission:

Your primary mission will be to:

• Design the conversational experience of the client priority AI agents, for both customers and employees
• Create conversations that are relevant, natural, consistent with the brand and measurable
• Define the principles, patterns and standards that will allow to scale conversational AI across new use cases
• Build a Conversational UX Guidelines / Pattern Library that becomes the reference for teams designing AI experiences

You will create a scalable Conversational UX Guidelines framework covering:

• External customer conversations — text
• Internal employee experiences
• Reusable patterns for greetings, clarification, error recovery, sensitive data collection, closing and human handoff
• A conversational readiness checklist for new use cases
• Guardrails for uncertainty, lack of knowledge and safe agent behaviour

What we’re looking for:

Must-have experience:

• 5+ years of experience in UX, Product Design or a related design discipline
• 3+ years of hands‑on Conversational Design experience, with conversational agents actually deployed in production
• Experience working with GenAI / LLM-based agents, including prompt design, grounding, hallucination management and guardrails
• Experience creating UX guidelines, conversational design systems or pattern libraries adopted by other teams
• Excellent written communication in European Portuguese and English, with strong sensitivity to tone, clarity, conciseness and context
• Ability to interpret conversational data and connect the full cycle: design → measurement → iteration

It would be a strong plus if you have:

• Experience in telecom, banking, insurance, utilities or retail, particularly in high-volume transactional environments
• Knowledge of speech technologies, including ASR/TTS and speech recognition error handling
• Hands‑on experience with conversational design platforms such as Voiceflow, Botpress or equivalent tools
• Experience working within organisations with an internal AI team, rather than exclusively delivering through external vendors
• Experience establishing new design standards or practices within large organisations
