Nimber in Porto, Portugal seeks an experienced Java Backend Developer to design and implement high-quality backend systems. You will work in an Agile environment with TDD practices and focus on reliable, scalable solutions across the software lifecycle.

Required are 6+ years of Java/Spring Boot experience, knowledge of databases (SingleStore, SQL Server, Sybase), and modern data tech like Hadoop/HDFS/Hive. Fluency in English is mandatory.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a Java Backend Developer.
• Strong expertise in Java and Spring Boot.
• Hands-on experience with SingleStore DB, OpenShift and Kafka.
• Solid SQL and relational database skills (SQL Server, Sybase).
• Strong experience building automated tests (TDD/BDD).
• Experience with distributed data technologies such as Hadoop, HDFS and Hive.
• Knowledge of microservices, containers, ETL and CI/CD (highly valued).
• Fluency in English (minimum B2).
