Job summary

Uniplaces is seeking a Senior Full Stack Developer to join a fast-moving product company. You will drive technical decisions and shape the platform in collaboration with Product, Design, and Engineering teams in a flat structure where engineers influence both technical and product direction.

As a senior engineer, you will own features from conception to production, mentor peers, and build scalable services using PHP, Node.js, Go, and Next.js.

Qualifications

• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Strong backend experience with Node.js, PHP, Go.
• Frontend experience with React and Next.js.
• Hands-on experience with Domain-Driven Design and Hexagonal Architecture.
• Production ownership: monitoring, debugging, performance tuning.
• Led projects end-to-end including design and delivery.
• Ability to mentor engineers and drive architectural decisions.
• Experience with AI-assisted engineering in daily workflows.

We are looking for a Senior Full Stack Developer who wants to work in a fast-moving product company, drive technical decisions, and help shape the future of our platform.

You will work closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams in a collaborative environment with a flat structure, where ideas are discussed openly and engineers actively influence both technical and product direction. As a senior engineer, you will be a reference point for the team: someone who raises the bar through your own work and helps others grow.

Our architecture is built around scalable distributed services and modern engineering practices. You will work with multiple services and technologies connected through domain-driven design (DDD), hexagonal architecture, APIs, and event-driven patterns to build reliable and scalable systems.

We are also deeply embracing AI-assisted engineering. We expect senior engineers not only to be strong users of AI tools in their daily workflow, but to set the quality bar for AI-assisted development on the team: knowing when to leverage AI for coding, debugging, testing, documentation, and architecture discussions, and when critical human judgment must take over.

What You'll Do

• Lead the design and delivery of complex features and systems, from conception to production.
• Break down ambiguous product problems into clear technical plans and drive their execution.
• Own technical decisions within your domain and represent engineering in product discussions.
• Build and maintain distributed services using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Hexagonal Architecture principles.
• Mentor mid-level engineers through code reviews, pairing, and architectural guidance.
• Identify and drive improvements to system architecture, developer experience, and engineering practices.
• Work with a variety of technologies, including PHP, Node.js, Go, and Next.js.
• Leverage AI-powered engineering workflows to enhance development speed and product quality, while maintaining a high standard for what ships.
• Develop features with a strong focus on scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
• Write comprehensive unit, integration, and end-to-end tests, and champion testing culture across the team.

Main Requirements

• Language Skills: Proficient in English, both written and verbal.
• Technical Proficiency: Strong experience with backend technologies (Node.js, PHP, Go) and frontend frameworks (React, Next.js).
• Architecture in Practice: Hands‑on experience with Domain‑Driven Design, Hexagonal Architecture, and distributed systems, not just familiarity with the concepts.
• Production Ownership: Experience operating services in production: monitoring, debugging incidents, and performance tuning.
• Project Leadership: Track record of leading projects end‑to‑end, including scoping, technical design, and delivery.
• Mentorship: Experience mentoring other engineers or supporting their technical growth.
• Ownership & Initiative: Ability to take full ownership of projects and work autonomously from conception to delivery.
• Product‑Oriented Thinking: A strong focus on delivering value beyond coding tasks.
• AI‑Driven Approach: Practical, daily use of AI tools for software engineering, with the judgment to critically evaluate AI‑generated solutions and set standards for the team.

Nice to Have

• Experience with AWS infrastructure and Terraform.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Experience influencing team processes, engineering standards, or technical strategy.
• Prior experience in startups or scale‑ups where you wore multiple hats.
• Open‑source contributions or GitHub projects.
