Senior Finance Reporting Lead – Lisbon

Job summary

Kardex is expanding Kardex Business Services in Lisbon to establish its Finance Reporting & Accounting capability. We seek an experienced Finance professional to take ownership of selected accounting activities during the transition, document controls, and help onboard junior colleagues.

The role will grow to lead a small team (3–5) with exposure to cross-border processes, Europe-wide standards, and SAP S/4HANA. Fluent English and Portuguese are required; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• At least five years of relevant professional experience in Finance and Accounting.
• Strong practical accounting expertise including transactional accounting, reconciliations, and closing activities.
• Profound experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance (SAP Fiori).
• Ability to understand end-to-end Finance processes and identify opportunities for standardization, automation, and improvement.
• Experience with international accounting frameworks across different European countries.
• Experience working in an international, multi-entity, or matrix organization.
• Ability to work independently and take end-to-end responsibility for assigned processes.
• Professional proficiency in English and Portuguese.
• German-language skills are highly desirable for collaboration with colleagues in Switzerland.

Responsibilities

• Establish and transition Finance operations in Lisbon.
• Personally perform transactional accounting and Record-to-Report activities during setup and stabilization.
• Collaborate with Switzerland and other European entities for knowledge transfer and continuity.
• Document processes, working instructions, and control procedures.
• Support handover from current role holder, including onboarding in Zürich.
• Ensure accounting activities are accurate, timely, and compliant with policies.
