Decskill is hiring a Senior Electrical & Systems Engineer for Caparica, Portugal, to lead power distribution and fibre optics design across multinational projects. You will participate in all project stages from requirements to acceptance, coordinating with multidisciplinary teams and delivering robust electrical architectures.

The role requires strong knowledge of electrical calculations, optical transmission concepts, and thorough technical documentation, with fluency in Portuguese and English.

Qualificações

• University degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Proven experience in design and integration of electrical power distribution systems.
• Experience in fibre optic network design and topology.
• Fluent in Portuguese and English.

Responsabilidades

• Design and integrate electrical power distribution systems across industrial, transport, railway, energy or infrastructure projects.
• Support installation, testing, commissioning and acceptance activities, including on-site work.
• Coordinate technical design reviews with internal teams and customers.
• Define and maintain system specifications and subsystem documentation.

Requirements

Education

• University degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrotechnical Engineering, or a related field.

Professional Experience

• Proven experience in the design and integration of electrical power distribution systems within industrial, transportation, railway, energy, or infrastructure projects.
• Experience in subsystem engineering, integration, validation and technical coordination throughout the project lifecycle.
• Experience supporting installation, testing, commissioning and acceptance activities, including onsite activities.
• Experience participating in technical and design reviews with internal teams and customers.

Electrical Engineering

• Experience in the sizing and selection of UPS systems, batteries, power conversion equipment and protection devices.
• Strong knowledge of low-voltage electrical distribution boards, power distribution architectures and power cabling systems.
• Good knowledge of electrical calculations, including:
• Load assessments
• Short-circuit analysis
• Experience preparing and reviewing electrical engineering documentation, including:
• Installation drawings
• Experience in fibre optic network design, including topology definition, ring architecture and capacity planning based on transmission system requirements.
• Experience selecting fibre optic cables, patch panels, ODFs, connectors, splicing accessories and other passive optical components.
• Understanding of optical transmission principles, link budget calculations, attenuation and network resilience.

Systems Engineering & Technical Documentation

• Experience managing and tracking technical requirements within an engineering domain.
• Ability to define and maintain technical specifications, engineering plans and subsystem documentation.
• Experience producing and reviewing technical documentation such as:
• System Requirements
• Design Documents
• Configuration Documents
• Test Procedures
• Operations & Maintenance Documentation
• Training Documentation
• Knowledge of configuration management and change control processes.
• Ability to define and manage technical interfaces between subsystems and ensure overall design consistency.
• Experience capturing and applying Lessons Learned.

Tools

• Good working knowledge of MS Office tools.
• Experience with CAD design tools is an advantage.

• Strong organisational and planning skills, with a high level of attention to detail.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, technical activities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a customer-focused approach.
