Bloq.it is seeking a Senior Computer Vision / AI Engineer to join the Bloq.X team and help our hardware perceive the physical world of parcels in real time. You will design and optimize CV pipelines for real-time detection, tracking and recognition from video, with a focus on latency and robustness.

• Deep experience in computer vision, both classical and applied, including OpenCV and image geometry.
• Track record running CV on edge/embedded targets (ARM, embedded, mobile) not just cloud GPUs.
• Strong Python, plus C/C++ for performance-critical paths.
• Comfort with real-time video: pipelines, synchronization, tracking, temporal reasoning.
• A first-principles approach with a habit of measuring impact.

We are in search of a Senior Computer Vision / AI Engineer to join our innovative team as our new #bloqstar. In this role, you'll play a crucial role in the Bloq.X team and you'll be helping us getting our hardware to see and understand the physical world of parcels and storage reliably and in real time.

Fair warning: we're scaling fast and the data and reporting capabilities are scaling with us. You'll often need to pull from multiple systems and build the picture yourself before you can analyse it. If you need everything pre-structured to do good work, this isn't the role.

What you’ll be doing:

• Design and optimize computer-vision pipelines for real-time detection, tracking, and recognition from video, with latency and robustness front of mind.

• Port and accelerate the performance-critical code for aarch64, using NEON/SIMD, quantization, threading, and a lot of honest profiling.

• Build the temporal reasoning that turns noisy per-frame output into something you can trust.

• Integrate sensor fusion to detect state and events out in the physical environment.

• Own the benchmarking and ground-truth tooling, because without it there's no real way to know what works.

• Close the loop with firmware and product, all the way from the sensor to the operational decision.

What you’ll bring to the table:

• Deep experience in computer vision, both the classical side and the applied side. Real OpenCV, image geometry, signal processing.

• A track record of running CV on the edge or on resource-constrained targets (ARM, embedded, mobile), not only on cloud GPUs.

• Strong Python, plus C/C++ for the paths where performance actually matters.

• Comfort with real-time video: pipelines, synchronization, tracking, temporal reasoning.

• A first-principles way of thinking and a habit of measuring things. You're the kind of person who says plainly when something doesn't work.

• Enough seniority to take an ambiguous problem from end to end and set the technical direction for it yourself.

It would be great if you would also have:

• Applied deep learning for detection, recognition, or OCR when it earns its place, and the judgment to know when it doesn't.

• Sensor fusion experience (ToF, IR, stereo, monocular depth).

• Embedded Linux (Buildroot or Yocto, Wayland, systemd, fast boot), or Android kiosk and CameraX.

• Deploying and keeping an eye on pipelines across a fleet of devices.

• Some hands-on hardware experience: sensors, PCBs, industrial cameras.
