Job summary

Claranet is seeking a Senior Network & Cloud Engineer to join the Lisbon-based internal team. You will design, implement, and manage network architectures across on-premises, Azure, and hybrid environments.

Key responsibilities include configuring VPN Gateway, ExpressRoute, Azure Firewall, and Private Link, while enforcing Zero Trust and security best practices. Collaboration with Cloud, Infra, and Security teams is essential.

Qualifications

• Solid experience in Network Engineering, Cloud Networking, or Network Security.
• Advanced experience with Microsoft Azure Networking.
• Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, BGP, NAT, IPsec, VPN, and TLS.
• Experience with enterprise firewalls and network security policies.
• Knowledge of hardening, access control, and infrastructure security.
• Ability to troubleshoot in complex and distributed environments.
• Experience with scripting or automation, preferably PowerShell, Python, or equivalent.
• Good knowledge of technical English.
• Ability to work independently, a sense of responsibility, and a focus on problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage network architectures in on-premises, Azure, and hybrid environments.
• Work with Azure components such as Virtual Networks, subnets, and routing.
• Configure VPN Gateway and ExpressRoute connections.
• Manage Azure Firewall and Network Security Groups.
• Implement Zero Trust principles, network segmentation, and least privilege.
• Monitor availability, performance, and security of infrastructure.
• Investigate incidents and identify root causes.
• Collaborate with Cloud, Infrastructure, Security Operations, and Operations teams.
• Contribute to automation, documentation, and continuous improvement.
• Support migration and modernization projects.
